Solventum Hosts First-Ever Employee
& Family Picnic at TCO
|
In July, Solventum brought together employees and their loved ones for a joyful and impactful inaugural picnic at TCO. More than 80 dedicated team members volunteered their time and energy to lead activities and support a meaningful community initiative.
Together, Solvers and their families assembled over 100 care kits for Firefighters For Healing and raised funds through a spirited field goal challenge. The event was a powerful reflection of our shared commitment to giving back—and a beautiful example of how our people truly live with heart.

H.B. Fuller aims to provide student interns the full experience of what it means to work for a world-class company — including the importance they place on giving back to our communities.
Earlier this month, a group of 22 interns volunteered with Spark-Y supporting youth empowerment and sustainability through hands-on service.
Volunteers joined Spark-Y staff and apprentices for a rewarding day of gardening and environmental stewardship. They focused on weeding, rain garden maintenance, native plant identification and inventory, and replanting efforts.

Volunteers Make BestPrep Camp a Success
|
Over the past six weeks, more than 400 high school students participated in BestPrep’s Minnesota Business Venture (MBV), a summer program with two weeklong sessions focused on business, leadership, and financial literacy. Hosted on the University of St. Thomas campus, the program provided students with a unique opportunity to experience college life while engaging in hands-on learning. Students were assigned to groups, known as their “company,” and worked together to develop a fictitious product or service, pitching their business plan to a panel of judges at the end of the session. Throughout the week, they also attended breakout sessions, participated in team-building activities, and heard from a variety of business professionals, gaining valuable career insights and essential life skills.
What truly brings MBV to life is the incredible dedication of its volunteers. Each week, professionals from different industries give their time and energy to support students throughout the camp. Some serve as Resident Business Leaders (RBLs), spending the entire week mentoring student companies, guiding them through business planning, and helping foster leadership and collaboration within the group. Others volunteer for a few hours, participating in mock interviews, providing valuable feedback to help students strengthen their communication and professionalism. MBV also welcomes keynote speakers and breakout session leaders, who share their career journeys, offer advice, and engage students in conversations about entrepreneurship, personal finance, and workplace readiness.
The impact of these volunteers is clear. After Week 1 of MBV, 95% of students reported feeling more prepared for their future as a result of attending the camp. Students regularly cite their connections with volunteers as one of the most valuable parts of the experience.
Tim Mercil, a longtime MBV volunteer from Medtronic who has spent the past 20 years at camp, shared, “This program has been such a big part of my life and it’s shaped how I lead, how I listen, and how I show up for others. I’m better because of it.”
Volunteering at MBV is more than just giving back — it’s also a chance to grow professionally and personally. Whether you're looking to enhance your mentoring, leadership, or communication skills, or simply want to inspire the next generation of leaders, MBV offers a meaningful and impactful way to make a difference.

Together, we can help students dream big and prepare for a brighter future.
