Description: We often think that following “best practices” is the key to strong volunteer programs. But what if those so‑called best practices don’t actually work for everyone? This training challenges the idea that there’s only one “right” way to engage volunteers. Bridgewater Bank Employees Support Affordable Housing and Neighborhood Revitalization Through Volunteerism
|
Recently, Bridgewater team members volunteered alongside two valued community partners to support affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization efforts across the Twin Cities.
In May, team members joined Great River Greening at The Heights development site in St. Paul for a tree-planting event designed to enhance green space and improve environmental sustainability within one of the region's largest redevelopment projects. Volunteers helped plant shade trees that will contribute to the long-term health, beauty, and livability of the growing community.
The following week, Bridgewater's summer intern cohort spent a day volunteering with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity at Minnetonka Mills. Working alongside Habitat staff and volunteers, interns helped advance construction efforts while gaining firsthand insight into the role affordable housing plays in creating strong communities and expanding opportunities for local families.
These experiences reflect Bridgewater Bank's commitment to investing our resources to help our communities thrive. Whether through financial support, volunteer service, or collaborative community development initiatives, we are proud to work alongside organizations that are creating lasting impact throughout the Twin Cities.

Land O'Lakes supports communities enterprise-wide with annual Together in Service volunteer campaign!
Earlier this month, over 800 Land O'Lakes employees came together to impact change locally. Engagement came all over the enterprise, with 32 facility teams assembling 1,280 snack bags for local communities and over 60 remote employees contributing through choose-your-cause kits.
In the Twin Cities, volunteers supported a wide range of local nonprofits through activities like food packing, kit assembly, meal preparation, bike builds, floral arrangements, environmental stewardship, and direct community engagement. In addition to hands-on service, employees deepened their understanding of community needs through learning sessions with nonprofit partners.
Together, these efforts not only delivered meaningful impact—including $8,000 in team grants—but also strengthened connection, learning, and our shared commitment to community.

Kids In Need Foundation’s
Supply a Student (SAS) Backpack Builds
|
Looking for a meaningful employee engagement opportunity that creates lasting impact?
Kids In Need Foundation’s Supply a Student (SAS) Backpack Builds bring employees together for a hands-on volunteer experience that directly supports underserved students heading back to school with the supplies they need to thrive. More than just a team-building event, these experiences create a meaningful connection between your employees, your company’s values, and the communities you serve.
At KINF, we know that students succeed when they have the basic tools to learn — yet millions of children across the country start the school year without essential school supplies. Through SAS Backpack Builds, your team can help close that gap while making a tangible difference for local students and classrooms.
Whether your workforce is in one office or spread across the country, KINF makes it easy to create a high-impact experience. Our team handles the logistics, planning, and nonprofit expertise needed to execute meaningful Backpack Builds nationwide — allowing your company to focus on engaging employees and creating purpose-driven impact. With KINF’s national reach and local community partnerships, your organization can make a difference where your employees live and work.
These events are customizable, scalable, and designed to align with your company’s employee engagement, CSR, volunteerism, and community impact goals. Together, we can help ensure students walk into the classroom confident, prepared, and ready to learn.
