Xcel Energy employees give back

During the month of October, Xcel Energy holds a company-wide employee giving campaign called Power Your Purpose, supporting causes near and dear to employee and retiree’s hearts that make a difference in our communities. The Xcel Energy Foundation matches each dollar to the donor’s choice of local United Way chapter. This year we proudly raised $2.45 million, and with the match, over $4.8 million will go directly to hundreds of nonprofits and United Ways across our eight-state footprint!

We also teamed up with Melissa Wilson at Greater Twin Cities United Way to make tie blankets and kitchen utensil kits as part of a campaign volunteer event.

Ecolab Associates Volunteer to Fight Food Insecurity
with Every Meal

Recently, 200 Ecolab associates gathered at the ESC Innovation Center in Eagan, MN, to pack 5,022 food bags in partnership with Every Meal, a nonprofit addressing child hunger. These food kits provide essential weekend nutrition for children who rely on school meals during the week.

Every Meal supports over 375 schools and serves nearly 12,000 children each weekend, helping to fill the food gap for over 300,000 food-insecure kids in Minnesota. As Angela, a social worker, said, “Kids who aren’t hungry learn better.” Ecolab associates’ efforts were a true team effort, reflecting our commitment to supporting local communities. Thank you to everyone who participated.

Thank You to BestPrep’s Volunteer Mentors this Fall

CVC-TC member companies provided mentorships to over 900 Minnesota high school students this fall through BestPrep’s eMentors and Cloud Coach programs! Thank you to Ameriprise Financial, C.H. Robinson, Cargill, Comcast, ECMC Group, Ecolab, General Mills, Land O’Lakes, Minnesota Twins, Thrivent, and UnitedHealth Group for the support of their caring and dedicated employee mentors.

Mentors can have a great impact on the lives of their mentees. They broaden students' worlds and help them feel confident and prepared for life after high school. As a student working with a Thrivent mentor this fall shared, “I learned that there are so many options and I've learned so many new career paths I didn't even know existed. After talking to my eMentor, I've learned what I want for my life, especially in the future”. Thank you, CVC-TC for all you do for Minnesota students!
