Holiday Volunteering – Yes, There is Time!
For many of us, the holidays represent and ideal time to do some volunteering with your co-workers. A lot of CSR teams get bombarded with last minute requests that become difficult to fulfill. For the second year in the annual event’s history, Day of Service projects took place in all eight states the company serves. With more than 100 nonprofit projects available, there was no shortage of ways to give back to our communities. Back in-person for the first time since 2019, more than 1,200 volunteers came together and put good energy into action throughout Xcel Energy’s Upper Midwest footprint on September 8 – 11.

Holiday meal packing shifts are now open for registration at Feed My Starving Children! Bring your work team or your family and in two hours you can make a difference! Meal packing shifts are available Monday-Saturday from 9am-8pm at Coon Rapids, Chanhassen or Eagan. More info at www.fmsc.org.

Providing mentorship to young people in our community is one of the most important ways to volunteer. Local nonprofit BestPrep’s program, Cloud Coach, impacted more than 2,000 students in Minneapolis and St. Paul with the help of 2,000 volunteers during the 2021-2022 school year.

Lead Volunteer Opportunities: 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance
HandsOn Twin Cities is looking for a group of motivated, service-oriented volunteers to help orchestrate a large-scale hunger relief event on Monday, 9/12/22. This important event is one of many signature 9/11 Day-supported projects being held in observance of the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Other event locations include New York City, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, St. Louis, San Francisco, and others.
